Open Question: my kid is highly gifted and all I keep getting from the teachers is "we dont see that in class"?

it seems to be a fob off to allow them to slide on giving her 'appropriate; work to keep her challenged. What do you consider an apporopriate response to get them to be more objective - as it apears to lessen their workload they only see what suits their outcomes? Oh yeah, forgot to add this is a kid that got scholarship too go to Uni over summer to do paper on Recidivism of religion, and has IQ reports she 'ceilinged' out on.
